CMS 7th Grade Football Season Highlights

The 7th grade football team started their season in Lovell.  The Broncs sealed their first game of the season with a score of 34-0. The Broncs then played against Rocky Mountain, Trenton Hubbs (number 16), shared, “I don’t know how the A and B team look– we all look pretty good,” and he when asked about his partnership with Ryan Decker (number 44), he replied, “We will do well in my opinion, because we have been running backs for 4 years, and we know the plays. This is also our third year together.” Players who have scored touchdowns so far this season  are: Ryan Decker, Trenton Hubbs, Dillion Brost, Lukus Morris, AJ Bauster, Barrett George, Conner Moss, and Jace Jarrett. The Broncs new quarterback, Logan Class, broke his wrist during a bad play. He is out for the season.

The 7th grade CMS broncs overwhelmingly beat Rocky Mountain in Cowley with an score of 44-6. Dillon Brost of the team said, “The game wasn’t really a challenge, and they were really small compared to us.”

The Broncs hope for another big win against Worland.  “I kinda think it will be more competition than what we have been facing, from what I’ve been hearing,” said, Dillon.  Rocky Mountain was half speed through the whole game yet they were no match for the CMS Broncs. Cody played full speed the whole game though and were hitting hard.  

The CMS 7th grade Broncs had two games against Worland. The Broncs A team, opened the game with a drive and almost scored. Worland opened their first drive just as serious. On a punt by Worland, received by Jace Jarrett, who ran it in for a touchdown, the only score of that game for the A team. They missed the 2 point conversion. A few drives later, Worland takes it into the end zone making it 6-6, they also get the 2 point conversion making the game 6-8. The rest of the game was just drives that were punted away by the A team punter Braydin Ray. After that the game ended, the score 6-8 Worland. The B team had a major opening drive. They scored in two plays. The drive was given to them by Micah Grant (number 97) on the kick off. He recovered the ball after Worland muffed the catch, making it a live ball. Worlands first drive was punted away, the punt was tipped by Ryan Decker and Trenton Hubbs, and was received by Kash Merritt. The broncs scored 3 touchdowns and 1, 2 point conversion. The score was 20-0 by half time. The game ended early at half time due to a forfeit by Worland.

Coaches are Jake Tuten, Rodney Miears, and John Corbin.
