8th grader Abbie Garaas has bags under her eyes. Why? Garaas has a bad sleep schedule because she always has time for her phone. She doesn’t go to bed until about 11 or even midnight! She always has coffee and energy drinks in her hands in the mornings, sometimes she has water but most of the time it’s coffee. Abbie said, “I don’t get up until about 7:45 in the morning because I’m so tired.”

7th grader Kintla Lafevers has a good sleep schedule because she usually goes to bed at ten because she has a dance after school, she gets up at about 7 or 7:15 because she has to feed animals. Kintla eats breakfast to wake her up. She usually has enough energy in the morning because of her breakfast.

Eight tips for a good night’s rest

Why is sleep important? Sleeping is important because it allows your body, and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Also, healthy sleep also helps the body remain healthy and stave off disease. Without enough sleep, the brain can’t fully function. This is why sleep is important, so you can have a good school day.
