This year for Halloween there won’t be as many events as there have been in the past but there’s still quite a few. On Friday, Oct. 19 there is a pumpkin plunge from 6-7:30 at the Rec Center. It costs $3 to prepay or $5 at the door. Swim and plunge for a pumpkin to decorate at different stations. There also will be a variety of other activities and is fun for the whole family. The Hootin’ Howlin’ Halloween event is on Friday, Oct. 26 from 2-4:30 p.m. It’s at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, It’s free for BBCW members but $10 per family for nonmembers. Participants can trick or treat through the Draper Natural History Museum. Other activities include a pumpkin carving contest, “spooky” stories, and learning about animals such as owls that are more active in the night than during the day.

The Halloween Carnival is Friday, Oct. 26 from 6-7:30 at the Cody Rec Center. It costs $3 in advance or $5 at the door. Adults and children under 2 are free. The Rec Center’s annual night of frightful fun: enjoy a cookie walk, costume contest, and carnival games. FFA’s Haunted Barn is Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26-27, and Oct. 31 from 7-10 p.m. It costs $5 per person. Take a spooky trip through the Buffalo Bill FFA’s haunted house. All proceeds benefit the FFA
