Spotify is a popular streaming platform for music, podcasts, and videos of artists all over the world. Spotify was launched on October 2, 2008, and continues to remain popular. Including free subscribers, Spotify now has a total of 217 million monthly active users worldwide. Whereas the basic, ad-supported service is free, Spotify offers a tiered subscription model allowing paid users to not only listen to Spotify without advertising but also to access tracks on mobile devices and save music and playlists for offline use. You can use Spotify premium for $9.99 a month and an individual, $14.99 a month for a family which is up to 6 people, and $4.99 a month for students(college or university). 

There are 100 million premium users, those who pay, and 117 million users who use the ad-supported tier. One sixth grade student who pays for Spotify premium, Kristen Boysen, said that she uses Spotify “ almost every day”. The most listened to artists on Spotify are Ed Sheeran, Drake, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, and Billie Eilish. Some of the most listened to songs on Spotify is “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran, “Rockstar” by Post Malone, “One Dance” by Drake featuring Wizkid and Kyla, and “Closer” by The Chainsmokers featuring Halsey.
