Perfect Gift for That Perfect Someone

Kaleb Dorale, Reporter

During Christmas, the gift getting business doesn’t get any easier. Making something for someone is the best way to go in some cases. Here are 4 ways to find the perfect gift for the perfect someone.

  1. First things first: Make a list of all the things the person is interested in and things that define who they are. Make this list long—spend at least two full minutes writing down as many things as you can. Now brainstorm something to go with every item on that list, small or big. You don’t have to give all of those gifts you’re going to hit on some cool ideas that some people wouldn’t think of otherwise,
  2. Look to the past. One gift exchange participant received a special mug memorializing a special moment, and such a seemingly small and simple gift brought tears to that person’s eyes.
  3. Ask what that person needs, and put together a care package. Like things that a person likes or enjoys. It can even be of movies, songs, candy, etc.
  4. Do some stalking. Not literally that would be creepy and just wrong. Instead, listen to what they talk about or say “That’s nice” about something that a person is looking at.

Mr.McLeod informed, “I like handmade gifts from my own kids, but from other people, I prefer a purchased gift. What I look for in a gift that someone takes the effort to know what I would like when they buy a gift for me.”

Landen Gallagher also informed, “Homemade gifts hold more emotional value than a lot of store-bought gifts, but some store-bought gifts are all a person can do in a certain situation. Not that store-bought gifts are bad compared to homemade, and to be honest, as long as it either holds emotional or physical usefulness/value, either kind of gift would seem appropriate(of course, that’s my opinion).” So remember these 4 ways and you should be alright.
