Cross Country Running is a long distance school sport going from the beginning of school to the end of October. Kaitlin Ennist a 7th grade runner who started running because her sister is a runner.  Also for the fact that she enjoys running. She is not able to run this season due to an injury but she is still helping out the team. Summer Neilson, a sixth grader, placed 33rd in the race in Ethete.

Mrs.Couture is a teacher and cross country coach. She  started coaching 18 years ago in Astoria, Oregon, where she was the assistant high school cross country and track coach. Mrs. Couture added, “Then in 2003, I became head coach of a high school and middle school cross country team in Stebbins, Alaska. I was also a 5th grade teacher there. Sometimes we even raced in Nome, which was a one-hour flight across the open water of Norton Sound on the Bering Sea.” She started coaching the Cody Middle School cross country team four years ago when she started teaching in Cody.  Mrs. Couture says she enjoys working with all 44 runners. She is always impressed by all the kids.
