High School sports aren’t like middle school they include a lot more commitment and hard work.This summer their is open gyms for almost every fall sport and even workouts. Some sport even start tryout weeks before school starts They aren’t mandatory but highly recommended. If you haven’t heard about any of this you are lucky you are reading this.

VOLLEYBALL: For volleyball open gyms have already started, they are on Monday from 7pm to 8pm at Sunset. Over the summer there will be open gyms on Mondays and Wednesdays at the High School starting June 3rd and the times are not decided yet. Weights and conditioning are Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 4th at 6.30 am to whenever it ends at the high school. If you come to all the open gyms that start on June 3rd  you get a cool tee-shirt. If you go to all the weight rooms except for two you get to skip out on the conditioning test. The coaches do want to remind you if you show up for everything they can still cut you and they are only taking 9 to 10 girls. Don’t forget tryouts start August 19th.

FOOTBALL: Starts August 19th, they do not have any open gyms for freshman yet.

CROSS COUNTRY: after July 4th they start running together, look at your email over the summer to find out when.

TENNIS: Practice starts August 12th

GOLF:  Practice starts August 12th

SWIMMING: There isn’t any open swims but there are workouts. Swimmers can fill out a punch card with workouts and once they fill it up you can get sweatshirts, sweatpants and shirts but that’s only for girls. Practice starts on August 19th.
