This year on January 3rd, U.S.A Wrestling (Cody Wrestling Club) started. Practices are held at CMS in the wrestling room, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The wrestlers had their first tournament Jan. 12 in Helena, MT. The wrestlers that went to Helena are and placed, Zac Barton went 2 and out, Logan Bartan took first place, Taylor Baggs took 2nd or 3rd place, Trey Smith took 2nd place, Lance Baggs went 2 and out, and Kannon Grant took 3rd or 4th place.

The wrestling team has two different practices. One for participants aged 5 to 8, and then older kids ages 9 to 14.

CWC  (Cody Wrestling Club) is very popular among those who do not wrestle for the schools. This year the coaches are Guy Grant and Steven French. The season will end in April. The season is good practice for those who do not want to compete but just practice and work on their skill in the sport. At practices, wrestlers will work on simple takedowns and standups and offensive and defensive moves with some live wrestling. On Monday, wrestlers will work on more complicated moves and takedowns with standups with a lot more live wrestling.

Micah Grant, a wrestler for 8 years, claims, ¨Practice helps a lot. Like I would wrestle with my younger cousin Kannon and he wouldn’t last long against me. Now that he does U.S.A and practices a lot more he lasts longer not just against me but against other kids as well.¨

U.S.A is available to anyone 5-14
