In case you haven’t heard, CMS has a new board game club, and it has’s certainly attracted some attention from the students and staff. The board game club originally started on the 29 of November, 2018, on a Thursday. Location wise, the first meeting held for the club took place in the school library under the supervision of Mr. Couture, and part time supervisor Mrs. Cole.

Since the board game club is still very new to CMS, an interview was held between the journalists, and Mr. Couture in hopes of digging up some more information on the club.

Many students want to know why, or what, inspired, or caused Mr. Couture to establish a board game club? Mr. Couture responded with this statement: “We wanted to setup a time for students to be able to enjoy games that were not electronic in nature.  Being able to sit around a board game or card game, just serves to reinforce or build new friendships. Plus it is engaging to the brain and help to build new neural connections.”

So far the club has had a reasonable amount of visitors, and Mr. Couture hopes to have many more students arrive in the future. Students are allowed to bring their own games to the club, but they first must ask for Mr. Coutures permission, and explain in detail what content the game holds. The clubs meetings start right after school, and does not end until 4:25. Mr. Couture also mentioned that everyone who attends a club meeting must inform either Mr. Couture, or Mrs. Farmer of your means of transportation, and then simply sign a form stating that your ride is covered. If students don’t have a ride available they must inform Mrs. Farmer, or Mr. Couture, and just simply catch the late bus which is scheduled to leave at 4:30. So far the board game club has held a mere handful of sessions, but hopefully the club will be available to host many more, and possibly expand the club in the future.
