Mrs. Herrmann is the ELL teacher here at CMS. What is ELL? ELL stands for English Language Learner. Her role at CMS is to teach students English when English is not their first language.  She loves language, cultures, and making a difference with students who struggle to feel comfortable. Mrs. Herrmann also likes to switch schools and how her schedule is so dynamic. Mrs. Herrmann started her career teaching ELL in the early 90s. She worked in the Los Angeles California Unified School District. She also likes this career because it’s a great way to connect with culture, diversity of cultures, and the people who come from different backgrounds. She enjoys forming great relationships with students.

Mrs. Herrmann enjoys many different hobbies including traveling to any new place she hasn’t been. She loves shopping and fashion, and seeing all the architecture around the world. Mrs. Herrmann likes connecting with people, and experiencing new traditions Mrs. Herrmann grew up in Mexico City for 16 years, and then moved to California. Mrs. Herrmann is glad she studied English in Mexico so when she came to the United States in 10th grade she didn’t need too much help learning the new language. Be sure to say “hola” if you see her in the hallways.
